But the band has also discovered an even higher calling for its music.  The story of Fr. Mychal Judge, the chaplain of the New York City Fire Department and the first casualty of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, moved John Ferguson to write a song honoring this man of God and of duty.  Sales of the CD 'Hymn for Fr. Mychal Judge' raised more than $30,000, which the band (along with a busload of their friends and fans) hand delivered in March 2002, to the Manhattan Church and Fire Station the Fr. Mychal called home.  The band has been adopted by the FDNY, and even performed for New York's bravest in New York and in South Bend, Indiana at a Notre Dame football tailgate party in October 2003
